65 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In Nintendo's 'Screaming Deals' Sale (North America)

Nintendo's "Screaming Deals" sale has arrived in North America, and with it comes one of the biggest opportunities of the year to fill out your Switch library without emptying your wallet. Across both Switch 1 and Switch 2 titles, there are dozens of discounted games worth your attention. To help you cut through the noise, the Nintendo Life team has gathered every game we scored 9/10 or higher, plus a personal pick.

Sales of this size can be overwhelming. Hundreds of games are marked down, and not all of them deserve your money. That is why we are focusing on the best of the best, the games our reviewers rated at the top end of our scale, along with a few favorites that earned a special place in our hearts.

Whether you are a long-time Nintendo fan or you recently picked up a Switch 2, there is something here for you. Let's dive in and look at what is worth adding to your eShop cart before the sale ends.

Why This Sale Is Worth Your Attention

Nintendo first-party discounts are rare, which makes any sale featuring its flagship titles notable. While third-party publishers regularly slash prices, deep cuts on Nintendo-published games tend to be limited. When they do appear, they are often the best time to pick up a modern classic.

The "Screaming Deals" event also includes a wide range of indie darlings and big-name third-party releases. Many of these have received critical acclaim, and several have reached their lowest prices ever. If you have been waiting for the right moment to buy, this may be it.

Keep in mind that sale periods are limited, and prices will return to normal once the event wraps up. If a game has been sitting on your wishlist, now is a good time to act.

Top Nintendo First-Party Picks Worth Buying

Nintendo's own catalog is full of 9/10 and 10/10 experiences, and several of them are discounted. These are the games that define the Switch platform, offering polish, creativity, and replay value that few other publishers can match.

If you have not yet played the major adventure and platforming entries, this is a great time to fix that. These games tend to be timeless, meaning you can enjoy them at any point without feeling you missed the moment. Their quality holds up year after year.

Multiplayer fans also have options. Nintendo's party and sports titles remain some of the best ways to bring friends and family together on the couch, and a discount makes them an easy recommendation.

Standout Switch 2 Games Now Discounted

Switch 2 owners are not left out of the savings. Several enhanced and exclusive games have been marked down, giving new console owners a chance to build a library more affordably. Improved visuals, faster loading, and smoother performance make these titles shine on the newer hardware.

Because the Switch 2 is still relatively young, discounts on its games are especially welcome. Anything that lowers the cost of entry is a good thing, and our high-scoring picks here prove that quality does not have to come at full price.

If you are unsure where to start, look for the games that show off what the new hardware can do. They offer the best sense of how far Nintendo's platform has come.

Incredible Indie Games That Scored Highly

Indies have long been a pillar of the Switch library, and this sale proves it. Many of the discounted games we scored 9/10 or higher come from small teams with big ideas. They range from tight platformers to deep roguelikes and cozy life sims.

What makes these games special is their personality. They often take creative risks that larger studios avoid, resulting in experiences that feel fresh and memorable. Best of all, they are usually inexpensive to begin with, so a sale price makes them nearly irresistible.

If you like to support independent developers, picking up a few of these titles is a great way to do so while enjoying some of the finest games on the system.

Classic RPGs and Adventures You Can't Miss

Role-playing fans have a lot to celebrate. Several massive RPGs and story-driven adventures are on sale, offering dozens or even hundreds of hours of content for a fraction of the usual cost. That is tremendous value by any measure.

These games reward patience and curiosity, pulling you into rich worlds filled with memorable characters. If you have been looking for something to sink your teeth into over the coming weeks, any of these would be a fine choice.

Because these titles are so long, they also make the discounts feel even bigger. Price per hour of entertainment is hard to beat here.

Our Personal Picks From the Team

Beyond the numerical scores, our writers each have personal favorites that may not have earned a perfect rating but have a special place in our hearts. These picks reflect the games we keep returning to, the ones we recommend to friends without hesitation.

Personal picks tend to be quirky, charming, or emotionally resonant. They are the kind of games that stay with you long after the credits roll, and they often come with a story about why they mattered to us.

We hope these selections inspire you to try something outside your usual taste. Some of the best gaming memories come from unexpected discoveries.
