Every engineer we place goes through the same five-stage vetting process before they ever talk to a client. The bar exists for one reason: we would rather take longer to introduce you to the right person than waste your time with the wrong one.
Every applicant's CV is reviewed by a senior engineer, not a recruiter. We look for shipped commercial work, depth in at least one stack, and signals of self-direction. Generic resumes without traceable projects are rejected at this stage.
We verify employment history with two prior managers or tech leads. References are asked specific work-related questions, not "would you hire them again" — we want to know how they handled ambiguity, conflict, and shipping under pressure.
A 60-90 minute pairing session with one of our senior engineers, working through a realistic problem in their primary stack. We are not interested in algorithm puzzles — we are looking for how they reason about real-world code: edge cases, tests, refactoring, debugging.
A second session focused on architecture and scalability trade-offs at the level the engagement requires. Mid-level placements get a service-design conversation; senior placements get a multi-system architecture review with hard cost / latency / reliability constraints.
Communication style, English fluency, and asynchronous-collaboration habits are reviewed by the engagement lead who will be running your project. This is where we filter for the work style that matches your team — there is no single right answer, only a right match.
Quarterly reviews on every active engagement. We collect structured feedback from the client engineer or product lead, and engineers who do not maintain the bar are rotated off and re-evaluated before being placed again.
