Tim Scott, the Republican Senator from South Carolina, recently announced his candidacy for re-election with a powerful speech delivered with the help of a team of talented individuals including Ella Creamer, Andrew Howard, Rishika Dugyala and Teresa Wiltz. Scott’s speech was a testament to his commitment to his constituents and the state of South Carolina.
Scott, a former small business owner and real estate developer, made his way into politics in 2010 when he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. He was appointed to the Senate in 2013 and then elected in a special election in 2014, becoming the first African American senator to represent South Carolina.
