For the first time since Beverly Hanson in 1951, a rookie has emerged victorious in their professional debut on the LPGA Tour. Rose Zhang made history at the Mizuho America Women's Open in May, becoming the youngest player ever to win the event and the first amateur to do so in 50 years.

Zhang, just 18 years old, took the golf world by storm with her incredible play over the four-day tournament. She shot a final round of 68 to finish on 7-under for the tournament, two shots ahead of her nearest competitor, and secure her place as the newest star of the LPGA Tour.

Her win was the culmination of a meteoric rise through the ranks of amateur golf. In 2019, she became the youngest player to win the US Women's Amateur Championship since 1910, and in 2020 she won the US Girls' Junior Championship. Her impressive amateur record made her an immediate contender on the LPGA Tour, despite her young age.

Zhang's win marked an exciting moment for women's golf, as the LPGA continues to grow in popularity and attract top talent from around the world. The Tour has a rich history, dating back to its founding in 1950
