Jimmy Carter, known as the 39th President of the United States, is a man who has contributed significantly to the country's history, and his legacy is still felt today. Born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia, Jimmy Carter was raised on a small farm and served in the United States Navy during World War II. After returning home, he joined the family business and became involved in local politics. In 1962, he was elected to Georgia's Senate, followed by becoming the state's governor in 1971.
Carter's political career, however, did not stop there. He went on to run for President of the United States in 1976, where he won against Republican incumbent Gerald Ford. Carter's presidency was marked by significant accomplishments, including the signing of the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt, the establishment of the Department of Energy, and the adoption of the Human Rights policy.
