Despite the setback, the Panthers were determined to put up a fight. They came out strong and relied on their depth to fill the void left by Barkov's absence. Two young players, Eetu Luostarinen and Anton Lundell, stepped up and played an integral role in keeping the Panthers in the game.
Luostarinen, who was acquired by the Panthers in a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes earlier this year, had a breakout game. He scored two goals, including the game-tying goal in the third period. Lundell, a 20-year-old rookie, also made an impact by recording his first NHL playoff point with an assist on Luostarinen's second goal.
The Panthers' resilience and depth were on full display throughout the game. Despite facing a tough opponent in the Hurricanes, the Panthers never gave up and continued to fight until the very end. Unfortunately, they fell short in overtime and lost the game 3-2.
