Panthers: Rising from the Shadows

The Florida Panthers may not have been the most popular team in the NHL in recent years, but they’ve certainly made a name for themselves lately. With a talented group of players and a standout coaching staff, the Panthers have made it to the playoffs three times in the past five years, and their future looks bright.

One of their keys to success has been the presence of Jonathan Marchessault, who was an integral part of the team's success during the 2016-2017 season - a season that saw the Panthers fall just shy of the postseason. However, Marchessault's time in Florida was short-lived as he was left unprotected during the 2017 expansion draft. He was ultimately claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights, who would go on to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season.

Despite his success in Vegas, Marchessault remains surprised that the Panthers didn't protect him during the draft. His time with the Golden Knights has only made him a stronger player, and he's now one of their top scorers. But his departure from Florida left a hole in the Panthers' lineup that they've yet to fully fill.

Still, the Panthers have seen some remarkable players emerge in recent years
