Gabe Vincent: From Benchwarmer to Key Player for Miami Heat
Gabe Vincent is no stranger to hard work and determination. The 6'3" shooting guard out of UC Santa Barbara has spent the last few years proving himself as a valuable asset to his team. However, it wasn't until this year's NBA playoffs that Vincent emerged as a key player and starter for the Miami Heat.
Vincent's journey to becoming a starter on a championship-contending team was not an easy one. In fact, he spent the majority of his first two seasons bouncing around the G League and taking a back seat on the Heat bench. However, Vincent's strong work ethic and dedication to improving his game did not go unnoticed by Head Coach Erik Spoelstra.
During the NBA's COVID-19 bubble in Orlando, Vincent was given the opportunity to prove himself as a viable rotation player for the Heat. He took advantage of the opportunity, showing off his shooting skills and impressive defense.
Since then, Vincent has become a mainstay in the Heat's lineup, starting in seven straight games during the 2021 playoffs and averaging 9.8 points per game. His contributions have been vital to the Heat's success, helping them reach the NBA Finals
