Cher Remembers Her Friend Tina Turner
It's no secret that Cher and Tina Turner have been close friends for decades. As they both rose to international fame in the 1960s and '70s, the two icons forged a bond that spanned continents and musical genres. So when Turner announced earlier this year that she has been diagnosed with intestinal cancer, it hit Cher especially hard. Now, the singer, actress, and fashion icon is sharing what she remembers most about her friend.
In a recent interview with People Magazine, Cher opened up about her feelings following Turner's announcement. "I was very sad," she said. "But I was happy because Tina is on the other side of whatever is good for her."
Cher went on to describe how Turner had been dealing with health issues for some time. "Tina has been sick for a long time," she said. "And I think that she's just over being sick."
Despite her struggles, however, Cher said that her friend always maintained a positive attitude. "Tina was always happy," she said. "She was the happiest person I knew, even when she was sick."
